La Réserve de Sociando Mallet, Château Sociando Mallet's second wine, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. La Réserve de Sociando Mallet is made by the same team as the Château's first wine. They use the same techniques. The difference is mainly in the barrel aging: 30% in new French oak and 70% in tanks for 11 months (first wine: 100% new French oak for 12 months).
This results in a very charming wine that can be drunk a bit younger.
Lamb curry, entrecote with red wine sauce, spicy cheeses.
Château Sociando-Mallet La Réserve de Sociando Malletis a delicious French Haut Médoc Bordeaux wine from winery Château Sociando Mallet from France. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 16 ° C and 18 ° C.
Jean Gautreau Sociando Mallet takes its name from Mr. Sociando and the widow Mallet. The first owned vineyards in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in the 17th century, while the second became the owner of Château Sociando around 1850, adding her name to it. The vineyards of Château Sociando Mallet are located on gentle gravelly slopes in the village Saint-Seurin de Cadourne, ten kilometers north of Pauillac.
From the vineyards you have a breathtaking view over the Gironde. Despite this excellent location, the domain was heavily neglected in the 20th century. In 1969 Jean Gautreau Sociando Mallet took over the winery and since then he has fully exploited its potential. Today, the domain is owned by Sylvie Gautreau, Jean's daughter.
