La Croix de la Residence Merlot , a southern French wine, has an intense red color. A very fruity wine with plenty of cherry and black currant aromas, supplemented with some spices. Fresh on the palate, round, balanced and well structured, with ripe tannins and a long finish.
The Merlot grapes specially selected for this wine come from various vineyards in the Pays d'Oc. Modern harvesting machines are used to harvest the grapes faster and cooler. The bunches are completely destemmed. Fermentation starts at a low temperature to give the wine more fruit and a round taste, after which it is continued for 10-12 days at 25°C. The young wine matures for another 6 months in oak barrels.
Traditionally served with grilled meat, rustic and spiced stews and ripe hard cheeses.
