L'Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen Moulis en Médoc is the second wine of Château Chasse-Spleen and offers an elegance comparable to the Grand Vin, but more accessible and young to drink. This blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and sometimes a small amount of Petit Verdot. The wine has a deep ruby red color and an aromatic profile of ripe red and black fruit, such as cherries, blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by notes of tobacco, cedar and a hint of spices. The palate is supple with fine tannins, a good structure and a long, balanced finish.
Serve wine at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C.
This wine is an excellent accompaniment to red meat, such as grilled entrecote or roast beef, and also goes well with game dishes such as duck or pheasant. In addition, L'Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen is a nice match with hearty stews and mature cheeses such as an old Gouda or a spicy cheddar. The firm structure and fruity character of the wine enhance the taste of these dishes.
Château Chasse-Spleen, located in the heart of the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation, is best known for its powerful red wines, but also produces excellent white wines. The winery has a long history and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to create wines that radiate both elegance and power. The vineyards benefit from the clay and limestone soils that contribute to the freshness and complexity of the wines. The white range of Château Chasse-Spleen has gained increasing popularity in recent years due to its refined style and excellent value for money.
