Kruger Rumpf Im Pitterberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs is a top class Riesling wine produced by the renowned Weingut Kruger Rumpf. This wine falls under the category "Grosses Gewächs", which stands for the highest quality standard in the German classification for dry wines.
The grapes for this wine come from the vineyard "Im Pitterberg", located on steep slopes with slate soils. These unique terroir characteristics contribute to the complexity and expressiveness of the wine.
In the glass, Kruger Rumpf Im Pitterberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs shows itself as a wine of extraordinary finesse and character. It has a clear, light yellow color with greenish hues. The bouquet is refined and aromatic, with intense aromas of citrus fruits, ripe peach, blossom and mineral notes. On the palate, the wine reveals an excellent balance between the refined acidity, the ripe fruit and the minerality. Flavor profiles of lime, green apple and hints of white flowers provide wonderful complexity and a long, elegant finish.
In terms of wine-food pairings, this wine goes well with refined dishes such as fried seafood, grilled fish, poultry dishes and light Asian dishes. The lively acidity and the harmony between fruit and minerality make it a versatile partner in gastronomic creations.

Kruger-Rumpf is a well-known and highly appreciated winery from the north of the Nahe. In Münster-Sarmsheim, the Rumpf family has been making wine for many generations, using vineyards from the Nahe valley and neighboring Rheinhessen. A real family domain with deep roots in regional culture, in addition to the wine company also a "Weinstube" and a few guest rooms.
The winery has been committed to making quality wines for a long time, as witnessed by the membership of the VDP since 1992. But the real sprint to the top has been initiated by the youthful brothers Georg (winemaker) and Philipp (business manager) Rumpf. They are responsible for the remarkable leap in quality in recent years, which has not gone unnoticed internationally either.
Georg makes fantastic Rieslings; intense and very terroir typed. This grape variety excels in the excellent vineyards of Pittersberg, Dautenpflänzer and Scharlachberg (the latter is located in Rheinhessen). The quality of this Grosse Gewächse can now rival that of famous vineyards further south in the Nahe Valley.
