Jas d'Esclans Rouge Cru Classé is a red wine from Provence in France. The wine is made from a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan grapes. The wine has a beautiful deep garnet color and a complex nose with notes of black fruit, cassis, elderberry and spicy notes with licorice and cocoa. The taste is harmonious with ripe tannins that cover the entire palette well. It is a mouthful with a long finish filled with mocha, coffee and a hint of laurel and ending with notes of cherries, tobacco and licorice.
The wine is produced by the Jas d'Esclans winery, owned by Sacha Lichine. The winery is located in the village of La Motte, in the heart of the Côtes de Provence appellation. The vineyards of the winery are located on a sandy soil, which provides good drainage for the grapes. The grapes are harvested manually and then gently pressed. The must is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged on the yeast cells for a period of 12 months.
