Heid Trollinger - Lemberger Trocken

Heid Trollinger - Lemberger Trocken is a unique and charming red wine from Württemberg, Germany. The wine is produced by Weingut Heid, a family business with a long history in viticulture.

The wine is a blend of two grape varieties: Trollinger and Lemberger. The Trollinger grape, also called Schiava Grossa, is a light and fruity grape. The Lemberger grape, also called Blaufränkisch, is a more powerful grape with more tannins. The grapes are grown on calcareous marl soils, which give the wine a unique minerality. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine matures for 6 months in French oak barriques.

The nose of the Heid Trollinger - Lemberger Trocken unfolds aromas of red fruit (cherries, raspberries), berries, plums, roses, herbs (black pepper, cinnamon), vanilla and toast. The taste is powerful and elegant with ripe tannins, lively acidity and a long, persistent aftertaste. The wine is complex and has a nice balance between fruit, wood aging and minerality.

This blend is perfect with red meat, game, poultry, mushrooms and mature cheeses. The wine also goes well with dishes with spicy sauces.

Weingut Heid

Weingut Heid is a winery located in the Württemberg region of Germany. Württemberg is an important wine region in southwest Germany, known for its production of both red and white wines.

The history of Weingut Heid goes back to 1699, when the ancestor of the winery, Jakob Melchisedec Heid, moved to Fellbach. In addition to viticulture, various types of fruit were also grown on the farm at the time. The history can still be found in the cellar, complete with vaults, dating from the 17th century. Markus Heid, now the 10th generation, is currently at the helm of the family business together with his wife Daniela.

In 2013 Weingut Heid is included as a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikats- Und Qualitätsweingüter). A lot of hard work has preceded this. Markus took over the company from his parents in 1996 and has increasingly focused on the production of quality wines.
