Heid Steinmergel Riesling - Sauvignon Blanc

Heid Steinmergel Riesling Sauvignon Blanc is a unique and exciting blend from Württemberg, Germany. The wine is produced by Weingut Heid, a family business with a long history in viticulture.

This wine is a blend of two classic white grape varieties: Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The grapes are grown on calcareous marl soils, which are known for their contribution to minerality in the wine. The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh and fruity characteristics of both grapes.

A complex aroma profile unfolds in the nose of the Heid Steinmergel Riesling Sauvignon Blanc. You will recognize citrus fruits (grapefruit, lime) from the Sauvignon Blanc, combined with white flowers, stone fruit (peach, apricot) and mineral hints from the Riesling. The taste of the wine is dry (trocken) with a lively acidity, characteristic of both grapes. The Sauvignon Blanc provides citrus and spicy notes, while the Riesling provides fruitiness and a hint of honey. The wine is medium bodied with a refreshing and persistent aftertaste.

Wine - Food pairing

This special blend is versatile and suits a wide range of dishes. The wine is perfect as an aperitif or with light dishes such as salads, fish dishes, shellfish, poultry and Asian dishes. The combination of acidity, minerality and fruitiness also makes it suitable for goat cheese.

Weingut Heid

Weingut Heid is a winery located in the Württemberg region of Germany. Württemberg is an important wine region in southwest Germany, known for its production of both red and white wines.

The history of Weingut Heid goes back to 1699, when the ancestor of the winery, Jakob Melchisedec Heid, moved to Fellbach. In addition to viticulture, various types of fruit were also grown on the farm at the time. The history can still be found in the cellar, complete with vaults, dating from the 17th century. Markus Heid, now the 10th generation, is currently at the helm of the family business together with his wife Daniela.

In 2013 Weingut Heid is included as a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikats- Und Qualitätsweingüter). A lot of hard work has preceded this. Markus took over the company from his parents in 1996 and has increasingly focused on the production of quality wines.
