Giol Prosecco Brut

Giol Prosecco Brut is a delicious sparkling wine from Veneto, Italy, produced by Azienda Agricola Giol. This wine is a Brut style Prosecco, meaning it is dry and low in residual sugar, giving it a refreshing and lively character.

Prosecco is one of the most loved sparkling wines in the world and is known for its fruity aromas and lively bubbles. It is mainly made from the Glera grape, which is known for its freshness and elegant flavor profile.

When poured, Giol Prosecco Brut has a light yellow color, which reflects the freshness of the wine. On the nose, the wine offers seductive aromas of white flowers, ripe pears, green apples and citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit. On the tongue, the wine presents itself with a refreshing acidity and a light to medium body. The taste is fruity and lively, with the notes of apple, pear and lemon coming together nicely with a subtle minerality.

Azienda Agricola Giol

Located in the heart of San Polo di Piave, 35 km from Venice (Veneto), Azienda Agricola Giol  is the oldest Prosecco house from Italy (1427). The trademark of this winery is the today uninhabited castle Giol. Here the wines are aged in the cellars, under the watchful eye of the young Venetian winemaker Vittorio Carraro, behind meters thick walls and therefore at a constant temperature.

The recent history of the castle and wine cellars goes back to the events surrounding 2 families: first the Papadopoli family and later the Giol family. The Count Papadopoli, a Venetian banker, used the castle as his summer residence and left Venice during those months to supervise the harvest on his infinite estate. In 1923, the family sold the huge estate with more than 60 farms belonging to the estate and the castle to Commander Giovanni Giol. He had just returned from South America after a very successful emigration period. He moved into the castle and continued with the count's work. While preserving the structure and the old wine cellars, he built a second barrel room, still known for its size and charm. After the contributions of the next three generations, the entire complex is in excellent condition and a winery remains where great wines are produced. All made from organic grapes, vegan, sometimes without added sulfites and with relatively low alcohol percentages.
