Giol Pinot Grigio Spumante Extra Dry is a refined sparkling wine from Italy, specifically produced in the Prosecco DOC region in Veneto, by Azienda Agricola Giol. Unlike most Proseccos, this wine is made from the Pinot Grigio grape, which is known for its versatility and fruity character.
The term "Spumante" indicates that it is a sparkling wine, while "Extra Dry" refers to the degree of sweetness. In this case, Giol Pinot Grigio Spumante Extra Dry has a slightly higher residual sugar content than a "Brut", resulting in a slightly sweeter taste.
When poured, the wine has a pale yellow color with subtle green hues, reflecting its freshness and youthfulness. On the nose, Giol Pinot Grigio Spumante Extra Dry offers seductive aromas of white peach, pear, apple and hints of citrus fruits, creating an inviting and fruity scent. On the tongue, the wine presents itself with lively and fine bubbles, which create a pleasant and elegant sensation on the palate. The taste is fruity, with notes of peach, ripe apple and hints of floral notes, in harmony with a light sweetness that gives the wine a refreshing and balanced finish.
Giol Pinot Grigio Spumante Extra Dry is a versatile and festive sparkling wine that is ideal as an aperitif, to toast on special occasions, or to share with friends and family. It is also an excellent accompaniment to light dishes such as seafood, salads, appetizers and mild cheeses.
Giol Pinot Grigio Spumante Extra Dry is an Italian sparkling organic and vegan wine from the Veneto region. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes.
Located in the heart of San Polo di Piave, 35 km from Venice (Veneto), Azienda Agricola Giol is the oldest Prosecco house from Italy (1427). The trademark of this winery is the today uninhabited castle Giol. Here the wines are aged in the cellars, under the watchful eye of the young Venetian winemaker Vittorio Carraro, behind meters thick walls and therefore at a constant temperature.
The recent history of the castle and wine cellars goes back to the events surrounding 2 families: first the Papadopoli family and later the Giol family. The Count Papadopoli, a Venetian banker, used the castle as his summer residence and left Venice during those months to supervise the harvest on his infinite estate. In 1923, the family sold the huge estate with more than 60 farms belonging to the estate and the castle to Commander Giovanni Giol. He had just returned from South America after a very successful emigration period. He moved into the castle and continued with the count's work. While preserving the structure and the old wine cellars, he built a second barrel room, still known for its size and charm. After the contributions of the next three generations, the entire complex is in excellent condition and a winery remains where great wines are produced. All made from organic grapes, vegan, sometimes without added sulfites and with relatively low alcohol percentages.
