Giol Pinot Grigio Blush Ramato has a delicate color. The aroma of the wine is characteristic of the Pinot Grigio intense, fine and fruity, with notes of blackcurrant and pomegranate. In the mouth soft, harmonious, dry and tasty.
This wine is the result of a careful selection of Pinot Grigio grapes, harvested by hand and vinified as 'Ramato'. To obtain the desired hue, the crushed grapes are cold fermented for 24 hours in contact with the skins, at 14 °C in stainless steel tanks. After this 'peel contact', the skins of the must are split and the natural yeast can do its work. Once the alcoholic fermentation is over, there is a long rest period on the lees (descended yeast cells and solids in the juice) during which the wine is stirred regularly (bâtonnage) to keep the wine in contact with the lees. This gives a lot of extra complexity and character. Bottling takes place at different times throughout the year to ensure that the bottled product is always fresh and fruity, for this purpose the young wine is stored under inert gas to maintain optimum freshness.
Delicious as an aperitif or with prosciutto crudo and with pasta in vegetable or shellfish sauce.
Giol Pinot Grigio Blush Ramato is an Italian organic and vegan rosé wine from the Veneto region. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes.
Located in the heart of San Polo di Piave, 35 km from Venice (Veneto), Azienda Agricola Giol is the oldest Prosecco house from Italy (1427). The trademark of this winery is the today uninhabited castle Giol. Here the wines are aged in the cellars, under the watchful eye of the young Venetian winemaker Vittorio Carraro, behind meters thick walls and therefore at a constant temperature.
The recent history of the castle and wine cellars goes back to the events surrounding 2 families: first the Papadopoli family and later the Giol family. The Count Papadopoli, a Venetian banker, used the castle as his summer residence and left Venice during those months to supervise the harvest on his infinite estate. In 1923, the family sold the huge estate with more than 60 farms belonging to the estate and the castle to Commander Giovanni Giol. He had just returned from South America after a very successful emigration period. He moved into the castle and continued with the count's work. While preserving the structure and the old wine cellars, he built a second barrel room, still known for its size and charm. After the contributions of the next three generations, the entire complex is in excellent condition and a winery remains where great wines are produced. All made from organic grapes, vegan, sometimes without added sulfites and with relatively low alcohol percentages.
