Giol Perla Frizzante

Giol Perla Frizzante is a charming and lightly sparkling wine from Veneto, Italy, produced by Azienda Agricola Giol. "Frizzante" means "slightly sparkling" in Italian, which means that this wine has less bubbles than a fully sparkling "Spumante" wine, but still has a pleasant and refreshing sparkle.

When poured, Giol Perla Frizzante has a clear and light yellow color, which reflects the freshness of the wine. On the nose, the wine offers seductive aromas of white flowers, green apple, pear and a hint of citrus peel, which gives the wine a wonderfully fruity character. On the tongue, the wine presents itself with a delicate and light sparkle, which creates a playful and refreshing feeling in the mouth.

The taste is fresh and fruity, with the notes of ripe apple, pear and citrus peel coming together nicely.

Wine - Food pairing

Giol Perla Frizzante is an excellent choice as an aperitif or as a lighter and more playful option for those who enjoy a sparkling wine with less bubbles. It is a versatile wine that also goes well with light dishes, such as salads, fish dishes, and soft cheeses.

Giol Perla Frizzante

Azienda Agricola Giol

Located in the heart of San Polo di Piave, 35 km from Venice (Veneto), Azienda Agricola Giol  is the oldest Prosecco house from Italy (1427). The trademark of this winery is the today uninhabited castle Giol. Here the wines are aged in the cellars, under the watchful eye of the young Venetian winemaker Vittorio Carraro, behind meters thick walls and therefore at a constant temperature.

The recent history of the castle and wine cellars goes back to the events surrounding 2 families: first the Papadopoli family and later the Giol family. The Count Papadopoli, a Venetian banker, used the castle as his summer residence and left Venice during those months to supervise the harvest on his infinite estate. In 1923, the family sold the huge estate with more than 60 farms belonging to the estate and the castle to Commander Giovanni Giol. He had just returned from South America after a very successful emigration period. He moved into the castle and continued with the count's work. While preserving the structure and the old wine cellars, he built a second barrel room, still known for its size and charm. After the contributions of the next three generations, the entire complex is in excellent condition and a winery remains where great wines are produced. All made from organic grapes, vegan, sometimes without added sulfites and with relatively low alcohol percentages.
