Giol Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique is a rich red wine from Veneto, Italy, produced by Azienda Agricola Giol. This wine is made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, an internationally renowned grape variety known for its deep color, complex flavors and firm tannins.
The use of the word "Barrique" in the name of the wine refers to the aging process. This wine has been aged in small oak barrels, also known as barriques. This gives the wine extra depth, complexity and structure, giving it an elegant and refined character.
When poured, Giol Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique shows a deep ruby red color, which indicates the concentration of the wine and its potential aging in oak barrels. On the nose, the wine offers enticing aromas of ripe dark berries, such as black currants and blackberries, along with notes of cassis, spices and a hint of vanilla and toast from the oak. On the tongue, the wine presents itself with a full body and firm, but well-integrated tannins. The taste is intense and complex, with the ripe berry and spicy notes coming together harmoniously with the subtle woody and vanilla notes.
Giol Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique is a wine to enjoy with hearty meat dishes, such as grilled red meat, lamb and game dishes. It is also a good match with mature hard cheeses.
Giol Cabernet Sauvignon Barrique is an Italian organic and vegan red wine from the Veneto region. This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
Located in the heart of San Polo di Piave, 35 km from Venice (Veneto), Azienda Agricola Giol is the oldest Prosecco house from Italy (1427). The trademark of this winery is the today uninhabited castle Giol. Here the wines are aged in the cellars, under the watchful eye of the young Venetian winemaker Vittorio Carraro, behind meters thick walls and therefore at a constant temperature.
The recent history of the castle and wine cellars goes back to the events surrounding 2 families: first the Papadopoli family and later the Giol family. The Count Papadopoli, a Venetian banker, used the castle as his summer residence and left Venice during those months to supervise the harvest on his infinite estate. In 1923, the family sold the huge estate with more than 60 farms belonging to the estate and the castle to Commander Giovanni Giol. He had just returned from South America after a very successful emigration period. He moved into the castle and continued with the count's work. While preserving the structure and the old wine cellars, he built a second barrel room, still known for its size and charm. After the contributions of the next three generations, the entire complex is in excellent condition and a winery remains where great wines are produced. All made from organic grapes, vegan, sometimes without added sulfites and with relatively low alcohol percentages.
