Giacomo Fenocchio Roero Arneis, an Italian white wine from Piedmont, has a straw yellow color and aromas of fresh flowers, citrus and melon with hints of almond. A balanced, elegant wine with good complexity and a nice aftertaste.
The Arneis produces light wines in which characteristics such as spiciness and soft bitters predominate. Arneis was almost extinct in the 1970s because of the difficult properties to grow this grape. The regional pride of the Piemontesi has prevented this and with joint forces, the Arneis is now again a proud and widely seen phenomenon. As a true Piedmontese, Claudio Fenocchio also makes a lot of effort with his Arneis.
Delicious white wine suitable as an aperitif or in combination with seafood, salads, light soups, veal, pork, chicken and creamy cheese.
Giacomo Fenocchio Roero Arneis is a delicious Italian white wine from the Piedmont region. This beautiful wine is made by winery Giacomo Fenocchio from Arneis grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 8°C and 10°C.
Winery Giacomo Fenocchio has been under the leadership of Claudio Fenocchio since 1989. He then took over the family domain from his suddenly deceased father. He has continued to work in the traditional style of Barolo, just like the four generations of Fenocchio before him. In Claudio's early years, this traditional approach was not so obvious, because in the 1990s the modernists emerged very quickly. Barolos with lots of new wood and fruit extraction became the norm. Fortunately, Claudio proved to be on course, resulting in great recognition and reputation.
The Fenocchios live and work on the upper part of the Bussia (Bussia Soprana) vineyard, in the geographical heart of the Barolo appellation. They also have quite a few plots on this illustrious orchard. They also have a few vineyards in the Crus Castellero and Villero, a beautiful plot on the upper Cru Cannubi, and some beautiful plots in Roero (for the white Arneis).
Fenocchio considers his farm an organic enterprise, although they are not yet certified. However, they participate in the European project that promotes sustainable agriculture and they follow farming practices that have been passed down through generations. What has given this family business consistency for generations is the respect for the work of their ancestors and the willingness to carry on this tradition.
