Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Cannubi

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Cannubi, a wine from Piemonte Italy, has a deep garnet red color. The bouquet is rich in fruit and flowers with strong warm spicy scents. An elegant and velvety wine, characterized by its completeness, balance and aging potential.

This is a very exclusive wine from the famous Cannubi vineyard. Very sultry and accessible Nebbiolo. Despite its accessibility, the wine is layered and has depth. Traditionally made by slow aging in large wooden barrels.

Wine - Food pairing

This Barolo is excellent with fried and grilled beef (classic is 'brasato al Barolo', finished with herbs, butter or beef fat and of course Barolo), strong stews, savory pasta dishes, game dishes with mushrooms and various cheeses.

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Cannubi

Giacomo Fenocchio

Winery Giacomo Fenocchio has been under the leadership of Claudio Fenocchio since 1989. He then took over the family domain from his suddenly deceased father. He has continued to work in the traditional style of Barolo, just like the four generations of Fenocchio before him. In Claudio's early years, this traditional approach was not so obvious, because in the 1990s the modernists emerged very quickly. Barolos with lots of new wood and fruit extraction became the norm. Fortunately, Claudio proved to be on course, resulting in great recognition and reputation.

The Fenocchios live and work on the upper part of the Bussia (Bussia Soprana) vineyard, in the geographical heart of the Barolo appellation. They also have quite a few plots on this illustrious orchard. They also have a few vineyards in the Crus Castellero and Villero, a beautiful plot on the upper Cru Cannubi, and some beautiful plots in Roero (for the white Arneis).

Fenocchio considers his farm an organic enterprise, although they are not yet certified. However, they participate in the European project that promotes sustainable agriculture and they follow farming practices that have been passed down through generations. What has given this family business consistency for generations is the respect for the work of their ancestors and the willingness to carry on this tradition.
