Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo, an Italian wine from Piedmont, is ruby red in color, becoming garnet red. This wine has a strong, rich scent with nuances of dried fruit, black cherry, plum, spice, chocolate, licorice and tobacco. A firm, refined taste with a velvety start and an excellent aftertaste.

This Barolo has all the characteristics of Claudio Fenocchio. The wine is easily digestible and relatively light. The emphasis is on the spicy notes such as mint and chamomile. A modest Barolo from the traditionalist pur sang.

Wine - Food pairing

Recommended with meat, game and mature cheeses age which are so typical of the local kitchen but it also goes very well with all the rich dishes of international cuisine.

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo

Recommended serving temperature between 18°C and 20°C.

Giacomo Fenocchio

Winery Giacomo Fenocchio has been under the leadership of Claudio Fenocchio since 1989. He then took over the family domain from his suddenly deceased father. He has continued to work in the traditional style of Barolo, just like the four generations of Fenocchio before him. In Claudio's early years, this traditional approach was not so obvious, because in the 1990s the modernists emerged very quickly. Barolos with lots of new wood and fruit extraction became the norm. Fortunately, Claudio proved to be on course, resulting in great recognition and reputation.

The Fenocchios live and work on the upper part of the Bussia (Bussia Soprana) vineyard, in the geographical heart of the Barolo appellation. They also have quite a few plots on this illustrious orchard. They also have a few vineyards in the Crus Castellero and Villero, a beautiful plot on the upper Cru Cannubi, and some beautiful plots in Roero (for the white Arneis).

Fenocchio considers his farm an organic enterprise, although they are not yet certified. However, they participate in the European project that promotes sustainable agriculture and they follow farming practices that have been passed down through generations. What has given this family business consistency for generations is the respect for the work of their ancestors and the willingness to carry on this tradition.
