The 90 hectares of vineyards with Nero d'Avola are located at Mazara del Vallo, a dry location with large differences in temperature. The substrate is made of mineral-rich clay, which is very dry. The harvest takes place mid to late September. Vinification takes place under strict temperature control in stainless steel tanks. After vinification, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels and then rests for another 12 months in stainless steel tanks.
Pellegrino Gazzerotta Nero d'Avola, an Italian wine from Sicily, has an intense red color. On the nose intense and persistent scents of blackberries, plums, cherries and the floral notes of violets. At the start, the wine gives a wonderfully soft and round mouthfeel supplemented with aromas of prunes and spicy notes of rosemary.
