Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru, a Grand Cru Classé winery in the Saint-Julien appellation, Bordeaux. This wine is made from younger vines on the same terroir and thus offers an accessible expression of the Saint-Julien style. The blend consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with additions of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, which provides a deep red color and a bouquet of ripe black fruit, cedar and subtle spices. In the mouth it is elegant and soft, with ripe tannins and a balanced structure, which gives a refined, silky finish.
Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is a versatile wine that goes well with various meat dishes, such as roast beef, lamb chops or grilled entrecote. Its complex aromas and supple structure also make it ideal with game dishes or hard, mature cheeses, such as comté or old cheddar. Due to its fruity notes and elegant structure, it is also an excellent accompaniment to mushroom risotto.
Located in Saint-Julien in the Médoc, Bordeaux, Château Branaire-Ducru has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. The winery is known for its innovative approach and its dedication to quality. The vineyards benefit from an exceptional terroir, with gravelly soils that are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and other classic Bordeaux grapes. Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is made with the same care and expertise as the château's first wine, but is intended as an early drinking, supple wine that reflects the style and finesse of Saint-Julien.
