Saint - Marc Hautes Côtes de Beaune

Saint - Marc Hautes Côtes de Beaune is garnet red in color. The nose offers black currant aromas and intoxicating notes of rose, cherry, strawberry and liquorice, with hints of blueberry, iris, violet, pepper and mint. On the palate fresh and fairly structured, characterized by a minerality that gives rise to fresh tannins and fruitiness, followed by a salty finish, underlined by aromas of cherry and licorice.

Hautes Côtes de Beaune is an area located in the Burgundy region of France. The appellation covers a large area of hills and valleys west of the Côte de Beaune, one of Burgundy's most famous wine regions. The Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellation is known for producing high quality wines that are less expensive than those from the more famous Côte de Beaune sub-region.

The climate in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellation is cooler than that of the Côte de Beaune sub-region, allowing for a longer growing season and the development of more complex flavors and aromas in the grapes. The soil in the region is mainly limestone and clay, which contributes to the minerality and structure of the wines produced there.

Domaine Saint - Marc

Domaine Saint - Marc covers 8.5 hectares and has an exceptional diversity of terroir with 10 different appellations: Hautes Côtes de Beaune in the south via Maranges, Santenay, Meursault and then Pommard and Beaune 25 km further north.

The domain Saint-Marc is a large domain on a small surface. In 2016, the St. Marc estate obtained the operating certification "Haute Valeur Environnemental." They no longer use insecticides and avoid weeding as much as possible. So when the plots allow, the soil is plowed.

Particular care is taken in the work of the vine, severe fluff formation, leaf thinning to the rising sun, higher trellis for better photosynthesis, all this allows the vine to express itself in the best possible way and to produce grapes healthy and of good quality to offer.

Here they work with maximum respect for the terroirs.
