Convento San Lorenzo Vesper Rosso di Valtellina

Vesper is a god in Greek mythology, personifying the evening light. The terraced vineyards are located in the area surrounding the San Lorenzo Monastery at an average altitude of 500 meters, facing south, flooded by the sun's rays from dawn to dusk.

The grapes come from small terraced vineyards, the implantation technique used is that of the Ciglioni, sometimes called Girapoggio: the rows are arranged east-west to increase sun exposure and simplify working in the vineyard. The soil, of moraine origin, is mostly sandy, formed by the rubble of the old rocks. There are also some large cysts. The roots of the vines usually enjoy a good depth, while further east, towards the monastery, they penetrate the most friable and mineral-rich rocks.

Vesper Rosso di Valtellina is typically a lighter, fresh and pleasant red wine with floral aromas, red fruit flavors and notes of spices and herbs. This wine has good acidity and a balanced structure.

Convento San Lorenzo

Convento San Lorenzo is a wine producer located in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The convent and vineyards of Convento San Lorenzo are located in the village of San Bernardo, near the town of Roa de Duero. The winery is named after the nearby monastery, which was originally founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks. The monastery played an important role in the history of the region and was later converted into a winery.

Convento San Lorenzo is best known for its production of red wines, especially from the Tempranillo grape variety, which is also known in Spain as Tinta del País or Tinto Fino. This grape variety thrives in the Ribera del Duero region and produces wines with intense aromas and a distinct character.

The wines of Convento San Lorenzo are often characterized by their deep ruby red color, ripe fruit aromas of berries and plums, combined with notes of vanilla, spices and a touch of oak. In the mouth they offer good structure, fullness and a balanced acidity, with soft tannins and a long finish.

In addition to red wines, Convento San Lorenzo also produces white wines, using the indigenous Albillo grape variety. These white wines are known for their freshness, lively acidity and fruity aromas.
