Convento San Lorenzo De Le Mur Valtellina Superiore Sassella

The name "The Mur" is derived from the ancient walls of the Convento San Lorenzo, located in an area of just over 100 hectares. This is a mosaic of small "handkerchiefs" surrounded by stone walls, facing south, at an altitude between 270 and 600 meters.

The terraced vineyards, beyond the ancient walls of the Convento San Lorenzo dating back to 1100, are located in the heart of this area, between 400 and 550 meters. The vineyards extend for several hectares on mainly sandy soil, composed of the rubble of the old rocks dating back to the post-glacial period, with the presence of iron that makes the earth reddish in color.

The Le Mur has a good concentration and is very balanced. In the mouth surprising by a beautiful
harmony, well-integrated tannins and notes of small fruit red that alternate with an elegant spiciness. This interesting Sassella is characterized by finesse, freshness and minerality.

Convento San Lorenzo

Convento San Lorenzo is a wine producer located in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. The convent and vineyards of Convento San Lorenzo are located in the village of San Bernardo, near the town of Roa de Duero. The winery is named after the nearby monastery, which was originally founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks. The monastery played an important role in the history of the region and was later converted into a winery.

Convento San Lorenzo is best known for its production of red wines, especially from the Tempranillo grape variety, which is also known in Spain as Tinta del País or Tinto Fino. This grape variety thrives in the Ribera del Duero region and produces wines with intense aromas and a distinct character.

The wines of Convento San Lorenzo are often characterized by their deep ruby red color, ripe fruit aromas of berries and plums, combined with notes of vanilla, spices and a touch of oak. In the mouth they offer good structure, fullness and a balanced acidity, with soft tannins and a long finish.

In addition to red wines, Convento San Lorenzo also produces white wines, using the indigenous Albillo grape variety. These white wines are known for their freshness, lively acidity and fruity aromas.
