Château Vessière Philippe de Vessière Rouge is the pride of Château Vessière. The color is garnet red. Complex, rich aromas of tobacco, blueberry jam, blackberry, black pepper, licorice, cocoa and coffee. The surprising flavors reveal all the power and character of the fantastic terroir of Costières de Nîmes. This wine has a fruity character, is smooth and very aromatic. This wine goes particularly well with venison in sauce and poultry such as pheasant and wild duck breast.

This wine is a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre grapes, from clay and pebble soils. The grapes are picked overnight after which they are destemmed and placed in cement vats. A special feature of this cuvée is a long maceration of several weeks, including 10 days of maceration after fermentation, which gives the wine a complex and rich aroma. The wine is then aged in 2-year-old oak barrels. This wine will continue to develop for 7 to 10 years.
