Château Vessière Ortus is expressive in the fragrance with aromas of blackcurrant and spices. The taste is full, juicy and greedy. It has very soft tannins and a lingering powerful finish. It is a wine that goes well with summer meat dishes from the barbecue, grilled vegetables, stuffed peppers, steak tartare and confit de canard.
This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, from clay and pebble soils. The grapes are harvested at night after which they are destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats using only indigenous yeasts.

Château Vessière is located in the heart of the Costières de Nîmes in the extreme south of the Rhone valley. The Château owns 65 hectares of vineyard. Located at the gates of the Camargue, the estate enjoys an exceptional terroir and climate. This beautiful property belonged to Mademoiselle Lucie de Vessière, who became Teulon's wife. The estate has since been passed down from generation to generation.
In 1975 Philippe Teulon took over the management after studying oenology at the Faculty of Sciences of Montpellier. Philippe is still on the estate every day and works closely with his son Vincent to develop fine and elegant organic wines, for which they receive numerous awards every year.
