Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc grapes. This ruby red St. Emilion Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet of red fruits of cherries and raspberries. Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage

Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage is one of the oldest wine estates in the area. The Château was built in 1670 by order of a high-ranking French naval officer. The name Tauzin comes from a type of oak, famous for the truffles that grow at the roots. As early as 1889, the wines of Tauzinat l'Hermitage were awarded at the Paris Wine Fair.

This Saint Emilion Grand Cru was purchased in 1953 by Bernard Moueix and his daughter Catherine is now responsible for this pleasant winery which is located between the villages of Saint Christophe des Bardes and Saint Hippolyte, east of Saint Emilion. The vineyard measures about nine hectares and is 85% planted with Merlot and 15% with Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 30 years and the planting density is 6,000 vines per ha. The vines are rooted in a combination of clay and limestone.
