Château Soucherie Coteaux du Layon Exception is an exclusive and rare dessert wine made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes. The wine comes from the Coteaux du Layon appellation in the Loire Valley, an area known for its sweet and complex wines.
The grapes for the Château Soucherie Coteaux du Layon Exception are harvested very late, which means they are affected by the noble rot Botrytis cinerea. This fungus creates an extreme concentration of sugars and aromas in the grapes. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in oak barrels. This results in a wine that is extremely rich and complex, with aromas of honey, dried fruit, apricot, peach, candied citrus, spices and honeycomb.
