Château Poujeaux is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The wine matures for 12 months in barriques, 30% of which are new. The result is a ripe, very expressive Bordeaux with good structure.
In the nose aromas of blackberries, black currants and some cedar wood. Full of flavor with notes of blueberries, plums, vanilla and pepper. The tannins are accessible and the finish is broad and long.
Delicious red wine with, among other things, quiche with Roquefort, bavette with herb butter or tajine of lamb.
Château Poujeaux is a delicious French Bordeaux wine from winery Château Poujeaux from France. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 16 ° C and 18 ° C.
Château Poujeaux, together with Château Chasse-Spleen, is one of the best wineries in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation. Château Poujeaux received a legendary name due to the fact that Baron Elie de Rothschild thought that Château Poujeaux 1953 was a Château Lafite Rothschild.
The name Château Poujeaux appears in 1806 for the first time in the history books. Before that, the winery belonged to Latour Saint Mambert, later Château Latour (1er Grand Cru Classé, Pauillac). In the 19th century, Château Poujeaux actually became independent and the first own wines were produced. Over the years, the estate was split into several wine estates, but it was restored to its original state at the end of the 20th century.
