Château Pibran

Château Pibran wine is made by the Château Pichon Baron team. The vinification takes place in the new wine aging room located at Château Pibran. There was a time when vinification took place at Château Pichon Baron itself, but that was in the past. Vintage 2014 is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This rich wine is deep ruby red in color and full of flavour. The bouquet gives spices, vanilla and fruits such as blackberries. In the powerful, but harmonious taste, fleshy tannins and a beautiful structure, followed by a very long finish. The wine can age easily, but is drunk earlier than most other Pauillac wines due to the large proportion of Merlot.

Chateau Pibran

Chateau Pibran is a delicious French Bordeaux wine from winery Château Pibran from France. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.

Recommended serving temperature between 16 ° C and 18 ° C.

The Chateau

Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, classified as Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Pibran was acquired by Paul Billa in 1941 and remained in the hands of the Billa family until 1987. The estate was bought in 1987 by Axa Millésimes, a subsidiary of Axa which at the time it was managed by Jean-Michel Cazes, owner of the neighboring Château Lynch-Bages. From this date, Pibran, with Daniel Llose, benefits both from the competence of the technical teams of Axa Millésimes and Pichon-Longueville Baron, as well as significant financial resources.

The vines have been replanted, the drainage has been improved and a new cellar has been built. In 2000, Christian Seely J.-M. Cazes, who then retired, managed the estate from now on with the support of R. Matignon, technical director, and Jacques Boissenot, the famous oenologist of Médoc. Finally, in 2001 the vineyard was greatly expanded with the purchase of the neighboring Château La Tour Pibran (also Cru Bourgeois in 1932). Pibran was classified in 2003 as Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.

Located north of Pauillac and south of Pontet-Canet, the 17-hectare vineyard extends over a gravel slope. The grape variety consists of Merlot (54%), Cabernet-Sauvignon (45%) and Petit Verdot (1%). The average age of the vines is 30 years and the planting density of 9,000 vines/ha. As for Pichon-Longueville Baron, viticulture is both traditional and modern. It follows "integrated manufacturing" practices and is certified environmentally friendly. The estate produces a second wine "La Tour Pibran".
