Château Lilian Ladouys is a blend of 56% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc grapes. The wine has had 15 months of wood aging, 1/3 of which are new barrels. The result is a black-red color and a strikingly expressive scent with a hint of vanilla.
This beautiful, slender Saint Estèphe has a velvety texture and clear notes of licorice and ripe dark fruit. The wine can best be described as a "feminine" Saint Estèphe of great class.
Delicious with shepherd's pie, Indian chicken curry or portobello burgers.
Château Lilian Ladouys is a delicious French Saint Estèphe Bordeaux wine from winery Château Lilian Ladouys from France. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes.
Recommended serving temperature between 16 ° C and 18 ° C.
The history of the Château goes back to the 16th century. Until the late 1980s, the winery was called Château Ladouys. When the winery comes into the hands of Christian Thiéblot in 1989, he decides to add the first name of his wife Lilian to the name of the domain: Château Lilian Ladouys. Christian Thiéblot invests heavily in the winery and takes the wines of Château Lilian Ladouys to a higher level.
Since 2008, Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti have been the owners of the Château. The owners also own Château Pédesclaux in Pauillac and (half) Château d'Issan in Margaux. The estate includes 48 hectares of vineyards within the Saint Estèphe appellation. More than 90 plots are available, mostly located between Château Lafon-Rochet and Château Cos d'Estournel. About 2/3 of the vineyard is located on well-drained soil, rich in coarse gravel, with pebbles up to 8 cm deep. The other vineyards, especially in Saint Estèphe, are located on clay soil with a limestone subsoil.
