Dame de Gaffelière is the second wine of the prestigious Château La Gaffelière in Saint-Émilion, and offers a refined and fruity interpretation of the terroir of this Grand Cru. This blend consists of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which provides an elegant balance between juicy fruit aromas and refined tannins. The wine has a ruby red color and offers aromas of ripe red fruit such as cherries and berries on the nose, together with spicy and earthy notes. In the mouth the wine is smooth and round, with soft tannins and a lively acidity that ensure a long, refined finish.
Wine serving temperature: 16 - 18 °C.
Dame de Gaffelière goes well with grilled meats, such as lamb or steak, and with classic French dishes such as coq au vin or veal ragout. It is also a good accompaniment to strong cheeses such as an old Comté or a ripe Brie. Due to its fruity and supple character, it can also be served well with lighter game dishes or poultry, such as duck breast or pheasant.
Château La Gaffelière is a historic winery located in the famous Saint-Émilion appellation and has a rich history dating back to Gallo-Roman times. The château is owned by the Malet Roquefort family, who have managed the estate for more than three centuries. La Gaffelière is known for its terroir, which is characterized by limestone and clay soils, ideal for the production of elegant, refined wines. The second wine, Les Hauts de la Gaffelière, offers wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy the typical class of this prestigious estate at a lower price.
