Château Fuissé Mâcon-Villages
Château Fuissé Mâcon-Villages is clear, light golden yellow in color. In the nose aromas of citrus fruit and peach. The taste palette includes orange peel, mandarin, apple and some saltiness. The finish is mineral with good medium length and accompanied by good acidity.
The grapes are picked by hand, with a very strict selection. The grapes are gently pressed pneumatically in the vinification cellar, after which the juice rests for 12 hours to allow coarser components to settle. After the juice has been transferred to clean stainless steel tanks, a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with wild (grape's own) yeasts is allowed to take place. Subsequently, part of the wine is allowed to undergo malolactic fermentation (to retain the necessary acids) and then mature on the 'lie'. After about 8 months, the wine is clarified if necessary, lightly filtered and bottled.
Château Fuissé is located in the heart of the Mâcon, the southernmost part of Burgundy.
