Chateau Desmirail is a delicious red Margaux Bordeaux wine from France from the winery Château Desmirail. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes.

Recommended serving temperature between 16° C and 18° C.

Chateau Desmirail 

Château Desmirail, 3rd Grand Cru Classé, from Margaux was named in 1661 by then owner Jean Desmirail. He inherited it when he married one of the daughters of the famous Rauzan family. At that time, the Château, located in the municipality of Cantenac, still belonged to the large Rauzan domain. The Rauzan wine estate is eventually split into the wine estates as we still know them today: Château Desmirail, Château Rauzan-Ségla, Château Rauzan Gassies and Château Marquis de Terme. Today, the Lurton family owns Château Desmirail. They have invested heavily in the past 20 years, which has greatly improved the quality of the wines. The winery covers 40 hectares of vineyards, 70% of which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% with Merlot and 1% with Petit Verdot.

The wine comes from a plot with an exceptional terroir within the Margaux appellation. The vinification is carried out using modern techniques and equipment, but with an overarching respect for tradition. This results in a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth, but also has tremendous potential to improve with age. Strict grape selection and carefully adapted aging methods are both essential to make Château Desmirail the Grand Vin it is.
