Château de Manissy Lirac is a lively Lirac wine with depth and balance. Intense flavors of red fruit combined with scents of garrigue, which gradually melt into a long, spicy finish.
The grapes are harvested by hand and come from sandy and clay soils with 'galets roulés' also known as puddingstones on the surface. The vineyards are planted in terraces facing south. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and cold soaked for 12 to 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation is initiated by native yeasts and continues at moderate temperatures (24-28°C) for about 20 days. The wine is aged in concrete tanks and 20 to 30% of the wine is aged in 2 and 3 year old oak barrels for 6 months.
Delicious red French wine suitable with filet mignon and lamb chops, game birds, baked potatoes with parsley and garlic.
Château de Manissy Lirac is a delicious red organic wine from the Minervois region of France. This wine is made from Syrah and Grenache grapes by Château Mignan.

Château Mignan is located in a small and typical southern French village called Siran, in the heart of Languedoc. These exceptional Languedoc wines reflect the terroir made up of calcareous clay and give the wine an incomparable quality. La Livinière is considered the best sub-region in Minervois.
Christian & Carole Mignan and their three children have been passionately managing this castle in the Languedoc for years. Château Mignan consists of 12 hectares of vineyard with 7 hectares in Minervois La Livinière and 5 hectares in Minervois. The wines produced here are a reflection of the terroir of the vines. Only great grape varieties are used: Syrah, Grenache and Carignan for the red wines and for the white wines Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Rolle are used.
