For the Grand Vin, Château Cos Labory, the grapes come from vines on average 35 years old. This Bordeaux wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Merlot (41%) and Cabernet Franc (4%) grapes. The wine is aged for 50% in new barriques, the rest in barrels of 1 year.
The result is a wine with a powerful nose. There are clear notes of cassis, cherries and pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is firm, with ripe tannins, seductive dark fruit and notes of laurel and coffee beans. In other words, a real Saint-Estèphe from a particularly good year.

Château Cos Labory, 5th Grand Cru Classé, owes its name to the pebbly ridge on which the Château and 18 hectares of vineyards are situated and to the first owner of the Château, François Labory. Cos is a corruption of "Caux," which means hill of stones. Château Cos Labory is located next to Château Cos d’Estournel and belonged to the same owner, Louis Gaspard d’Estournel, until the mid-nineteenth century. Since 1930, the winery has been in the hands of the Audoy family.
