Château Brown Rouge Pessac Leognan

Château Brown Rouge is made with the same great care as the Grand Vin, but from the younger plots. Half of the young wine matures for 12 months in 1 and 2 year old barriques. Intense ruby red in colour. The smell is very pleasant; after rolling the wine in the glass, a real explosion of aromas of red fruit, especially wild strawberries, follows. The taste is silky smooth. The taste is rich and mouth-filling and is just as complex as the smell. The tannins are soft, give the wine a pleasant structure and lead to a long, rich finish.

This is a contemporary Bordeaux in the best sense of the word!

Wine - Food pairing

Delicious red wine that combines great with beef dishes, minced veal with mushrooms or lamb shoulder.

Château Brown Rouge Pessac Leognan

Château Brown Rouge is a delicious French Bordeaux wine from winery Château Brown from the appellation Pessac-Léognan France. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes.

Recommended serving temperature between 16 ° C and 18 ° C.

Château Brown Rouge

Château Brown is located just south of Bordeaux, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The Château takes its name from the Scotsman John Lewis Brown, who bought it in 1795. Unfortunately, the vineyard was in a bit of a state of decline when a classification was drawn up in the Graves in the middle of the last century, but now, after great efforts and investments, Château Brown is back on top: the wines are considered among the best in Pessac-Léognan. The management of the Château is in the hands of Jean-Christophe Mau.

The winery covers 31 hectares, 26 hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the white grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon cover 5 hectares. The vineyards are located on two sand-gravel ridges that guarantee good drainage. All grapes are harvested by hand and sorted three times. This results in particularly fine white and red wines.

Of course, Château Brown also has a second wine, called Le Colombier de Brown. This is a bit lighter and fruitier than the Grand Vin and can therefore be drunk younger.
