Champagne Leclerc Briant Réserve Brut has a smooth, shimmering straw yellow color with sparkles and flashes of lighter yellow. A lively stream of tiny bubbles creates a lingering ring of mousse at the top of the glass. All the characteristics of this wine are both rich and fresh.
The first sensations on the nose confirm the promise of the eye. Green apple aromas with suggestions of lemon, apricot, mandarin and fresh almond, all accentuated by a hint of iodine. As the wine breathes, it reveals notes of blackcurrant, peach, blood orange, fresh grapes, pomegranate and licorice, plus a hint of anise, flint, clove and juniper.
In the mouth, the attack is rich and fresh with a soft, creamy mousse. Then comes a full, powerful fruitiness supported by the lingering taste of citrus fruits. The center of the palette revolves around minerality of clay and chalk soil which gives fullness, fruitiness and a certain voluptuousness to character and adds a definite bite and length to the tongue. A particularly well-reviewed dose enhances the chalky texture that gives bold, yet elegant fruitiness before leading to a delicious finish distinguished by notes of salt and umami. The balance between the palette and the finish provides concentration and consistency and leaves the final feeling of a cooling sea breeze and menthol to linger.
Delicious as an aperitif or with lobster, scallops, oysters, white fish and pork.

Recommended serving temperature between 6°C and 8°C.
Founded in the village of Cumières in 1872 by Lucien Leclerc, the company moved in 1955 to the premises it still occupies today in Chemin de la Chaude Ruelle in Epernay. It was also during this time, thanks to the dynamism of Bertrand Leclerc, the founder's great-grandson, and of his wife Jacqueline Briant, that the estate-based business changed its status to that of a Maison de Negoce or trading house.
In 2012, after the death of Pascal Leclerc, the house Leclerc Briant was saved from obscurity when it was taken over by Mark Nunelly and Denise Dupré. This American couple loves the French 'art de vivre'. The couple instantly fell in love with Leclerc Briant's maverick character. They are joined by Frédéric Zeimett, born in Champagne, who has been driving the house to the highest standards ever since. Previously, Frédéric gained experience at Moët & Chandon and became acquainted with biodynamics at Michel Chapoutier in the Rhône.
New Leclerc Briant owner Denise Dupré immediately set to work with the purchase of 14 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards. All are certified organic and are cultivated biodynamically.
All Champagnes also have the vegan quality mark. They specialize in the production of 'single vineyard' Champagnes, always with a vintage.
