Canapi Nero d’Avola
Canapi Nero d'Avola is made from the Nero d'Avola grape variety, which thrives in the sunny and dry vineyards of Sicily. The Mediterranean climate and calcareous soils in the region contribute to the characteristics of this wine.
Canapi Nero d'Avola has a deep ruby red color and possesses aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, plums, cherries, herbs and hints of tobacco and earthy notes. The wine has a smooth taste with a soft aftertaste.
After harvest, the grapes are destemmed but not crushed and gently pressed. The must is fermented for 8 days at 28 degrees Celsius. The malolactic fermentation then takes place. Canapi wines carry the Vegan label. No animal ingredients are used during the process of clarification (making wine clear) and stabilization. Canapi only uses vegetable proteins from beans and peas.
