Blason d’Issan

Blason d'Issan, Château d'Issan's second wine, was introduced in 1995 to allow selection between the vines. Fruit from the youngest vines is used to produce this wine, which respects the identity of its terroir, while offering a tasty round fruitiness, which can be enjoyed earlier. Blason d'Issan also matures for 14 to 16 months in barrels, a third of which are new. The annual production is about 120,000 bottles.

Blason d'Issan is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot grapes. The color of the wine is intense purple red. Warm ripe cherry fruit, a hint of chocolate and delicate notes of orange peel. The round door is remarkable and because of the good proportion of Merlot, the wine also tastes very full. A nice freshness, after the warm fruit, refreshes the mouth. The final is also long, round and soft.

Chateau d'Issan

Château d'Issan is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Margaux and rightly bears the name 'Château'. The French and English royal houses served this wine at weddings and parties and the same applied to the Austrian court.

Under Emmanuel, huge investments were made in the quality of the vineyards and in modern cellar equipment. The grand vin is classified as Troisième Cru in the 1855 classification.
