Benoit Girardin Savigny-Les-Baune Blanc Vieille Vignes

Benoit Girardin Savigny-Les-Baune Blanc Vieille Vignes is light golden yellow in color with emerald green highlights. The nose is floral and airy. The bouquet is reminiscent of butter and brioche with notes of lemon, grapefruit and the occasional hint of minerality. A lively attack helps make this a clean, uncomplicated wine, quite fleshy, persistent and occasionally with a hint of spice.

Savigny-lès-Beaune is a wine appellation located in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France. The village of Savigny-lès-Beaune produces both red and white wines, the majority of which are red.

The red wines of Savigny-lès-Beaune are made from Pinot Noir and are known for their elegance and finesse. They typically have aromas of red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, combined with subtle earthy and spicy notes. The tannins in these wines tend to be firm and well-structured, allowing them to age well. The white wines of Savigny-lès-Beaune are made from Chardonnay and are known for their freshness and minerality. They offer a complex bouquet of aromas, including white flowers, citrus fruits and minerals, with a rich palate and a long finish.

The soils in Savigny-lès-Beaune are varied, with a mix of limestone, clay and gravel. This contributes to the diversity of the wines produced in the area.

Benoit Girardin

Benoit Girardin is a young winegrower from Burgundy. Generation after generation, the Girardin domain was passed down until Benoit took over 8 hectares of this historic domain in 2020 and has now fulfilled his wish to make his own wine. Before that time, Benoit not only gained experience in the family domain, but also trained as a wine oenologist in Beaune.

Girardin wines are synonymous with elegant, charming and honest wines that taste like where they come from. The vineyards include appellations such as Santenay, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet and Pommard, which are planted with old vines.

Benoit's philosophy is clear, he wants to make top quality wines that are produced as naturally as possible with a focus on the hard work in the field and as little interference as possible in the vinification.
