Benoit Girardin Santenay 1er Cru La Maladière has a garnet brown color. Intense aromas of raspberries, cherries and black currants mixed with spices and licorice. In the mouth the taste is deep and intense. Firm yet discreet tannins provide a body that is smooth, finely textured and well built. A balanced and complex wine with a nice texture. Due to the aging in oak barrels, the wood is wonderfully intrigued with notes of caramel and toast. This wine has a lovely long finish.

Benoit Girardin is a young winegrower from Burgundy. Generation after generation, the Girardin domain was passed down until Benoit took over 8 hectares of this historic domain in 2020 and has now fulfilled his wish to make his own wine. Before that time, Benoit not only gained experience in the family domain, but also trained as a wine oenologist in Beaune.
Girardin wines are synonymous with elegant, charming and honest wines that taste like where they come from. The vineyards include appellations such as Santenay, Savigny-Les-Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet and Pommard, which are planted with old vines.
Benoit's philosophy is clear, he wants to make top quality wines that are produced as naturally as possible with a focus on the hard work in the field and as little interference as possible in the vinification.
