Apostelhoeve Auxerrois

Apostelhoeve Auxerrois is a fresh and fruity white wine from Wijndomein De Apostelhoeve. This historic winery, located on the Louwberg south of Maastricht, allows the Auxerrois grape to excel in the Limburg climate.

The Auxerrois grape is a pearl among the white grape varieties. Don't expect overwhelming complexity from the Apostelhoeve Auxerrois, but do expect a refreshing and accessible character.

Pour the Apostelhoeve Auxerrois into the glass and enjoy the bright, light yellow color with a hint of green. The color is a beautiful reflection of the freshness that this wine promises.

The scent of the Apostelhoeve Auxerrois is dominated by aromas of white fruit, such as juicy pear and ripe apple. In addition, hints of citrus, such as grapefruit, can be discovered. The scent is pleasant and inviting. On the tongue, the Apostelhoeve Auxerrois is dry (trocken) and light to medium bodied. The fruity notes from the scent are reflected in the taste, supplemented by a lively acidity that provides a nice balance. The aftertaste is dry and pleasantly refreshing.

Apostelhoeve

The Dutch wine tradition, which originated in Roman times, gradually made way for other forms of agricultural activity after the Middle Ages. Until 1970 when the first vines returned to the southern slopes of the Jeker valley in Maastricht. Here, on one of Limburg's most beautiful spots on top of the Louwberg, the Netherlands' oldest and one of the largest wine estates in the Netherlands, De Apostelhoeve, is enthroned.

This wine estate, now over 10 hectares in size, produces six beautiful, dry white wines, namely: the Müller-thurgau, Auxerrois, Riesling, Pinot-gris, Pinot-gris barriques and the Apostelhoeve Cuvée XII plus two sparkling wines: Apostelhoeve Riesling Brut and Apostelhoeve Cuvée XII Brut.
