Alto Moncayo is a red wine from the Spanish wine region Campo de Borja. The wine is made from 100% Garnacha grapes and aged for 20 months in French and American oak.
The wine has an intense ruby red color. The nose shows aromas of ripe black fruit, such as blackberries, black cherries and plums. There are also hints of oak, such as vanilla, toast and cocoa. In the mouth the wine is full and powerful, with a good balance between fruit and tannins. The flavors of ripe fruit are dominant, with a light touch of spice. The aftertaste is long and pleasant.
The Alto Moncayo comes from 40-60 year old vines.
