Albertus Viljoen Chenin Blanc
Albertus Viljoen Chenin Blanc, a South African white wine from Worcester, has a light and bright straw yellow color. In the glass, the wine reflects as clear crystal. The scent is complex and dominated by nectarine and peach complemented by nicely integrated aromas of toast and oak. The taste is rich and creamy, aromas of roasted cashew nuts and vanilla pods stimulate the senses. Albertus Viljoen Chenin Blanc provides a soft, full, round and elegant mouthfeel that seems to last forever.
The Chenin Blanc grapes for this wine come from old vines planted on poor limestone soils. After manual harvesting in the early morning, the grapes are vinified per plot. The bunches are pressed in their entirety and the juice is fermented in wooden barrels with wild yeast strains. The wines are then blended in different barrels from different plots.
